Breast Cancer Australia invests in many areas in its ongoing fight against this terrible disease. There is increasing demand for our support across the community and we are constantly working to decrease the rate of mortality and improve our services.

Research

In Australia in 2006 a total of 2,643 people died of breast cancer. Research projects, trials and awareness in the community continue to improve treatment and diagnostic methods around Australia.

Awareness & Prevention

Breast Cancer Australia has ongoing awareness and prevention campaigns including: One in 11, Pink Ribbon, Door-Knock, Retail Program and Call Centre. Awareness and prevention continues to be a driving factor in reducing the number of deaths from breast cancer. Early detection is the key to successful treatment.

Accommodation

Breast Cancer Australia provides dignified, private homes for breast cancer patients needing accommodation throughout the course of their oncology treatment. We are the only organisation in Australia to offer such beautiful homes to support breast cancer sufferers.

Each residence has three bedrooms, weekly linen & cleaning service and is fully self contained. Our housing has modern facilities and décor to enable the most comfortable stay, and all properties are in quiet, peaceful locations, whilst ideally situated in close proximity to metropolitans hospitals.

Equipment
